How do you choose a dog to become your best friend? With your heart of course. OK, perhaps there are a couple of other considerations. Here is how Darlene Vasser came to find the lights of her life.
“I am single and live in a condo. I wanted a small dog that was cute, was not yappy, didn’t shed a lot, and didn’t need a lot of exercise. The Westie (officially known as the West Highland White Terrier from Scotland) fit the bill. I bought my first one, Daisy, who is six-and-a-half now, from a breeder in Murray. I also have her four-and-a-half-year-old daughter, Darcy. I got Daisy because of her line but didn’t know if I wanted to breed her. I have bred her twice. Darcy is from her first litter.”
Darlene admits the two girls can be a bit stubborn, but they can be trained. “Daisy is my A student. Darcy is a bit of a wild child.”
To prove that these hardy dogs are her true loves, Darlene proudly showed a short video on her phone of Daisy playing with her puppies — darling little white fluffs enjoying a bit of rough-housing with mom.
Aaawwwwww. So cute.
